The Gulf Coast Chapter Book Club focuses on reading books about women in developing countries and also serves as an educational, as well as literary and enjoyable monthly forum. The book club meets every second Monday at the Sarasota North County Library from 2:30-4:00. All members are invited to attend. In conjunction with Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of the Gulf Coast; we plan a discussion and TGIF at Giorgio’s on Hillview Avenue on Friday, October 19 at 5:30. Ambassador Leslie Rowe will not be able to join us. A separate invitation will be sent soon.
Thursday, November 8 — Lesego Malepe. Reclaiming Home: Diary of a journey through Post-apartheid South Africa. She also wrote Matters of Life and Death.
The author will join us for a special presentation in collaboration with the African-American Cultural Resources Center at the North County Library, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm.
